On Sunday September 27, the Groton Education Foundation hosted its 2nd Eastern Point House Tour. Nine magnificent homes in the National Historic District of Eastern Point and Branford House on the Avery Point campus of the University of Connecticut were open to the public. The Tour will began at 11:00 am and concluded at 5:00 pm. Mother Nature did not cooperate this year. It rained throughout the day and a cold southeast wind blew in off of Fishers Island Sound. But strong support by Groton businesses and hearty house tour patrons made the event a financial success for the Foundation. The nine homes on the tour and Branford House at Avery Point presented a fascinating glimpse into the Gilded Age of Groton and this unique part of our area. We are looking forward to another Tour in the near future.

Thanks to all of the wonderful volunteers who made the event possible. Special thanks to the businesses in our town who supported Groton Education.
